Info #2: ======== Tuesday evening information: ============================ Some of you will arrive already on Tuesday. For those who want to have a drink and later something for dinner, I offer the following. At around 8.30pm we can meet in the "Plaza Canadio" http://maps.google.com/maps?q=plaza+canadio%2C+Santander%2C+Spain in the "Ventilador" for a drink. You can also find it as #10 on p. 6 in the new restaurants guide At around 9pm we will have some dinner in a place close by, most probably in "Conveniente", #12 on p. 6. Feel free to join. I will have to make a reservation. Therefore I have to know how many of you will come. Please let me know until Sunday night. You reach plaza canadio first by bus (line 1, 2, 4, 13 from the hotel, stop: Castelar 1) and then five minutes by foot. More information about the bus you can find on the workshop venue web page: http://www.ifca.es/HDays10/venue.html Arriving to IFCA information: ============================= Again detailed information about how to arrive to the institute can be found here: http://www.ifca.es/HDays10/venue.html I especially prepared two "guides" with photos that show you the complicated part of the arrival. The workshop will take place in room 017, and most of the time we also have the room 024 to sit, discuss, work. My office is room S106, one floor below. It has a few cartoons around the door, hard to miss. Please, upon arrival, try to find me. In case you cannot enter the building, try to call me: +34/942/201536 (office) +34/687/254650 (cell) Talk information: ================= The workshop intends to increase the communication between theory and experiment. Theorists: your talk should be addressed to both, experimentalists and theorists. It should specifically emphasize the information for the experimentalists, address open (experimental) question and possible interaction/improvement in the collaboration with the experiment. What do you want from the experimentalists? Experimentalists: your talk should be addressed to both, theorists and experimentalists. It should specifically emphasize the information for the theorists, address open (theory) questions, where would more theory input be needed, how could the interaction between theory and experiment be improved. What do you want from the theorists? We will use individual laptops for the presentations. However, please upload them to the indico page: http://indico.ifca.es/indico/conferenceTimeTable.py?confId=294 If you have problems, send me your talk and I will upload it. In case you have a power point talk, please also provide the pdf version. Sport/recreation information: ============================= There is a non-zero probability that the weather will be fine. Apart from your running equipment you might also bring your swimming trunks. Beach and Atlantic are right in front of the hotel. Take a look at the web cams of Santander (the four small ones with the beach): http://heinemey.web.cern.ch/heinemey/views.html Wireless connection: ==================== There is a wireless network at the institute (ESSID: ifcaca), but you have to be registered. If you not have done this already, send me NOW the mac address of your wireless card. The wireless in the hotel is included. If there are problems, call me (see above). Close to the hotel there is the pub "Cormoran" (#11 on p. 3), which also provides free wireless (downstairs for non-smokers, upstairs for smokers).
